2010 was a reasonable snow season. Membership numbers continued to decline to the extent that no official Winter Group ski activities occurred. The decline in numbers was caused by health issues among existing members and our inability to attract new members. The Howmans Gap camp was booked, but so few members wanted to attend that the camp was cancelled. Luckily, our deposit was refunded. Pub nights continued to be popular. The Committee continued to discuss how to manage our declining numbers, lack of members willing to organize and run activities, and increasing public liability insurance costs. Some of our thoughts about these issues will be discussed during the AGM. |
