Winter Group Inc. Cross Country Ski Club

Our AGM, and Winter, are approaching. We can only hope for a winter like they experienced in Northern Europe during our summer. Preparations for our ski season are under way. If you would like to lead a ski trip during the season, please let me know the details.

Insurance is still an important issue for all sporting organisations. For us, the cost is more than our membership subscriptions. The general view of the committee is that we can’t afford to risk not having insurance, but, the cost of insurance is depleting our financial reserves. For that reason, we are proposing to increase the membership subscription fee. We will obviously have a discussion about this at the AGM, and a vote. I would prefer that it didn’t overtake the meeting (or even be the dominant theme). Skiing is what we are about, and our decisions should be aimed at making that as enjoyable and worry free as possible.

There are vacant committee positions, and I would encourage you to consider nominating for one. It is a further opportunity to socialise and to contribute to the success of the club.
